- We collected donations for the Chaska Public Safety Heroes and Helpers Team to buy presents at the Chaska Target Store on Dec. 7 . A wrapping party pitting Rotary and Lions Club volunteers against each other starts at 8:30 AM. This fun annual event enables children to pick presents for their family members and enjoy the gift of giving during the holiday season. Let Kristy Miklas know if you want to be billed for a donation, which will add to the dollars that filled our blue pig.
- Our club received a thank you note from Joan Seedorf, the Chaska Parks and Rec employee who bought the winning raffle ticket supporting the Music Fest. She included a $500 donation to celebrate her win and help our Miracle Field project. The Chaska Education Association generously donated $1,000 to that project also.
- Bob Chinnock and the STRIVE mentors will meet today. Cozy Whittman will be speaking about preparing for college life. (Fifty years ago the checklist included bell-bottom jeans and a “Make Love Not War” button.)
Marcos is attending practice for the high school’s Nordic skiing team. He watched a boxing match on TV but wasn’t impressed. Instead, he enjoyed soccer and bowling with friends. Snow on the ground this morning also gave him a new experience. At his home in Spain, only the mountains have snow. When asked about school, Marcos said that the courses were easier than he expected, with biology being his favorite.
