NO FINEMASTER
EXCHANGE STUDENT – Viola Bavastro
Viola has been finishing the work of her Senior project – her shared blog about her experiences as an exchange student: lifeofanyearabroad1.blogspot.it
Her graduation party at a classmate’s house on June 1 allowed us to have some quality moments to say goodbye and share our pleasure of getting to know her. Viola will have to spend another year of high school back in Italy.
Our speaker for our second Service Project this year was Tomi Kedrick, the vice-president for external engagement at Matter, a Saint Louis Park – based, non-governmental organization with a mission to provide nutrition to elementary school-age children in the USA and internationally.
After receiving instruction for our working teams: 1 – write a note to the recipient of each nutrient pack; 2 – package a cracker bag, fruit, and protein into each plastic bag; 3 - seal them all; and 4 – fill up a box, we happily complied!
Tami explained details about Matter and its effects in achieving their mission. More than nutrition, Matter has also extended its outreach to include medical supplies and efforts to provide micro-investments for business generation in Africa.
MATTER is hosting a special opportunity to learn more about life changing MATTER Insight Trips to Zimbabwe next Tuesday, June 4, 2024.
This will be a time to gather to hear about their projects, talk through what you'll experience on the ground, and learn what it's like to go on a breathtaking safari. There will be plenty of time for Q&A, along with details on trip planning, scheduling, and pricing options. Contact: KATIE OLSON, Director of Development, 952.737.6092

Note from John Roebke: Invocations can be a faith traditional prayer, or a meditation, or inspirational verse or quote. Brief 20 – 30 seconds. Light-hearted is okay. Option: focus on our Mission of Service Above Self. Need an idea – Google Rotary Invocations. Not a personal talent? Don't wait, tell me NOW, 612-790-7067, john.roebke@live.com. I will be glad to name another. If I forgot that you told me not a talent, please forgive me. Remind me. If not a good DATE, trade with a mate.
