Last Week's Presentation
Invocation: John Zirbes
Happy Dollars: No Fines were assessed today, but Happy Dollars came from Vic Benetti and Ray Schalow. Ray was thankful for his friendship with Wayne Ward, and Vic was happy that 6 members provided gift cards to be incentives for the STRIVE students.
Holiday Auction and Money Board: Our team of Holiday Organizers performed their duties wonderfully and kept us laughing and donating for the entire meeting. The Money Board big winner was Kevin Hegland, and many others took home
donated wine and restaurant gift cards. Many thanks to the Holiday Auction team: Sheryl Hough, Char Weber, Paul Maahs, Amanda Bloomgren, and Lorie Treff. Together over $5,000.00 was raised!!
Club Announcements and Updates
Gary Cooper facilitated a STRIVE meeting following our gathering. Students were exposed to post-high school armed forces options, specifically three incredible young men from the Marines as well as a representative from the Chaska Youth WorkForce Center all with the goal of exploring current and future employment/educational opportunities.
Dennis Loving is asking for help to prepare for our sponsorship of a Pond Hockey tournament next year. He wants to assist the Excelsior Rotary Club with their similar event so we gain experience and understanding of this endeavor. Find some time and power tools during the last week in January and the following week in February.
Contact Denny.
Gretchen Oppriecht announced that Gary Cooper and Steve Mueller will be joining our Board of Directors.
Lisa Anderson kept her thoughts to herself after donning her Rotary Membership badge. She must have been saving her voice for all the bidding during the Holiday Auction.
Volunteer/Sponsorship Opportunities
We are looking for volunteers and sponsors for these upcoming events:
Swimming Lessons (May '22)
Pond Hockey (Jan. '23)
All help and contributions would be greatly appreciated!
