Matt Podhradsky would like to meet with the Miracle Field fundraising group on Monday, Feb. 27.
Neil Wingert shared his birding excitement as two Barred Owls landed in the trees outside his dining room during our meeting. His camera was in hand quickly and here are the two visitors who actually, sat together for a few seconds. These are large birds – about 21” tall with 42” wingspans.
FINEMASTER
Matt Podhradsky pinch-hit as fine master and fined folks the old-fashioned way -he just picked out those who he thought deserved it! They will donate at their first opportunity, as will those proclaiming Happy Dollars: Matt Szybnski, Gretchen Oppriecht, Nate Bostrom, and
Neil Wingert.
PRESENTATION: Grace Northamer, Chaska Rotary’s First Intern
Matt Podhradsky introduced Grace Northamer, our first Intern (2018-19) and recent graduate of the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN. She brought us quickly through the last four years in her life, while expressing her gratitude for the life lessons she gained from her internship experience. Those of us who knew her during that time were impressed with her energy, warm personality and intelligence. Apparently, Dick Schulze, the CEO of Best Buy, thought so too. She attended St. Thomas on a full academic scholarship.
Highlights of her life since Chaska High School included studying Theology in Rome, becoming ordained and officiating her aunt’s wedding, entering competitions related to business and entrepreneurship, studying consumer buying behavior in Egypt, moderating a St. Thomas workshop, organizing a business club, selected as a “Human of St. Thomas” and graduating early with Magna Cum Laude degrees in Entrepreneurship and Business Analytics.
Grace highlighted the role that Rotary played in building her self-confidence, providing public speaking experience, instilling the importance of Community and citizenship, learning how adults worked and played together, and giving her the desire to Serve. Could we feel any prouder??!!!
