Invocation: Bob Chinnock

 

Erin Kerber introduced the speaker for Bus Stop Mamas, Mary Kay Ziniewicz, its CEO.  Starting with a biological maxim “No Mamas, no people!” Mary Kay held up a sign she would be displaying at a march in Minneapolis later in the day.  She and her team of volunteers and employees want to revolutionize the workplace and its hiring practices by creating job and career connections for mothers who have left the workplace to raise children.
 

Mary Kay provided statistics that reflect staffing challenges and career progress after being a “bus stop Moma.”

Lisa Anderson wrote a Guest Editorial highlighting Mental Health Awareness.  Our club’s April 28 Cinco de Mayo breakfast received a great description. Swimming Safety was encouraged with a safety pledge form. An article promoting our Community Shredding Events was matched by an invitation to participate in the Christmas in May work on Saturday, May 7.

 

 

 

 

Finemaster and Happy Dollars: Dan Keyport wasted no time in recognizing physical attendance by Char Weber, Mark Omann and Gary Hardel.  Of course, they paid for the privilege of meeting in person.  Switching to another of his roles, one day after the great occasion, Dan greeted us with “May the Fourth be with you!”   It took a little time for that pun to sink in.  It all became clear once Dan/Darth quizzed each table on Star Wars movie trivia. Most tables probably would have donated more, but an enthusiastic Zoom attendee kept calling out answers before the fine could be levied.  Her excuse – “I want to WIN!”  Sadly, it is known by those with more experience that NO ONE wins during Finemaster, except the blue collection pig! Her fines may produce many sequels…    Happy Dollars were donated by Gretchen, Steve Wein and Greg Anderson.

Gary Hardel finished his Presidential honors by presenting Steve Mueller with his plaque signifying his selection as the George Klein award for 2021.

Mike Fahey would like others to watch the Chaska Cubs baseball team this spring and summer.

Gary Cooper and Vic Benetti would appreciate some relief as organizers of the STRIVE Program.

Andy Haugen is looking for 16 volunteers to assist the Prior Lake Rotary with the annual Music Fest.  Their efforts would let our club share some of the proceeds. Mark your schedule for July 8 + 9.
