FINEMASTER

Phil Solseng picked up the matador’s cape and waved it as each table tried to
answer music trivia questions. Most of us paid for Phil’s efforts, but he also
singled out Gary Cooper, Cindy Anderson and Bob Chinnock. Happiness was
expressed with dollars from Peter Ivy, Ken Hiller, Bob Lindall and Erin Kerber.

PRESENTATION:
Tami Hedrick, Executive Vice-president for External Engagement at MATTER

MATTER’s -
  • Mission: To help people launch projects that improve communities.
  • Belief: You matter. Your ideas and actions can change the world.
  • Vision: To reinvent a self-sustaining model of charity that inspires people to action for good.

MATTER is able to cover fixed costs through social enterprise activities that generate revenue from sales of goods and services. These include “MATTER 360°” and MATTERbox. The variable costs of projects are covered through donations.

In 2022 these efforts and donations resulted in 130,000 meals distributed in the USA, 17 countries with active projects, 108 partner organizations and 9,500 volunteers.

A MATTERbox is a kit that includes materials and food that can be distributed locally by volunteers. Each Snack Pack includes a personalized note, an education card, Wow butter, crackers and a fruit pouch.

The boxes can be given through schools, religious organizations, First Responders, food shelves, companies and neighbors. MATTER 360° also helps distribute functional medical and industrial equipment to
assist the agricultural and technology efforts in other countries.
