ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • Erin Kerber presided at this morning’s meeting, and thanked all those who helped the tree planting project.

  • Matt Podhradsky reminded us of the Xmas in May project on Saturday, May 4, starting at 7:15 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church gym, located at 300 E. 4th Street in Downtown Chaska.  The work will be done at five houses, but usually Rotarians try to pick one to apply their joined efforts.

  • Andy Haugen asked for 3 families to host our next exchange student arriving in August from Spain.

  • Erin Kerber asked for two more families to host students in the Northstar Exchange group coming to Chaska July 19 – 20.  Two students will need to stay for two nights.

NO FINEMASTER TODAY

However, Happy Dollars were given by Gretchen Oppriecht and Celi Haga.  Gretchen was pleased because of a 2nd place finish by the Knowledge Bowl team in the National tournament.  Celi was thankful for the work accomplished by the scholarship team and the students who applied for their help.

EXCHANGE STUDENT UPDATE: Viola Bavastro

Viola was glad to have had the unique experience of planting trees last weekend.  Then she confessed she binge-watched all the episodes of the Netflix true crime television miniseries “Unbelievable.”

Upcoming Invocation

Note from John Roebke:  Invocations can be a faith traditional prayer, or a meditation, or inspirational verse or quote.  Brief 20 – 30 seconds.  Light-hearted is okay.  Option: focus on our Mission of Service Above Self.  Need an idea – Google Rotary Invocations.  Not a personal talent? Don't wait, tell me NOW, 612-790-7067, john.roebke@live.com.  I will be glad to name another.  If I forgot that you told me not a talent, please forgive me.  Remind me.  If not a good DATE, trade with a mate.
