Neil Wingert pointed out the article about the Miracle Field in the July edition of Neighbors of Chaska magazine.
Erin Kerber distributed 3 booklets of raffle tickets for us to sell. Each set has 18 tickets, to be sold at $20 for one or $50 for three. (3x18 = 54 tickets). We also received a Venmo QR code and instructions to record the date of a Venmo purchase on the ticket stub that we retain. This is a Gaming Department requirement. After the buyer scans the VENMO QR code and makes the necessary entries, Erin advised us to view the completed Venmo purchase on the buyer’s phone before we issue the tickets and record their details on the stub. See the example photos below.
Erin suggested we contribute our opinions about the proposed Southwest Chaska Park: www.engage.thinkconfluence.com/sw-chaska-park LINK

PRESENTATION:Rotary District 5950 Governor, Mark Shockey
Our 2025-26 District Governor Mark Shockey gave a fast-moving and Chaska-centered presentation that highlighted his perspectives on Rotary’s vision, activities and future. Assistant Governor Bill Gaddis (Eden Prairie AM club) also attended our meeting. Mark immediately endeared himself with us by bringing several boxes of donuts to sweeten up the already beautiful morning.
Mark provided his background of membership and leadership within Edina Rotary and Veterans Support clubs. He is a Lutheran pastor, provides ministry at NASCAR events, and lives in Chaska. Mark has committed to wearing Rotary-branded apparel throughout the next year to ensure others will see the presence and impact of Rotary in their communities.
His one-word answer to the question “What is Rotary?” is “Together.” Mark stressed the importance of connecting with people by recalling his experience entering 9th grade at a new school. We had a few moments to discuss our own views of forming relationships as a positive attribute of Rotary membership.
Mark personalized his presentation by showing photos pulled from our ClubRunner website (thanks Jean) and Chaska’s demographic data. He advised us to re-invite members who might have stopped attending meetings. We were asked to attend the District Event at Valley Fair on September 13 and to volunteer to help host the International Rotary Convention in 2028.
Note from John Roebke: Invocations can be a faith traditional prayer, or a meditation, or inspirational verse or quote. Brief 20 – 30 seconds. Light-hearted is okay. Option: focus on our Mission of Service Above Self. Need an idea – Google Rotary Invocations. Not a personal talent? Don't wait, tell me NOW, 612-790-7067, john.roebke@live.com. I will be glad to name another. If I forgot that you told me not a talent, please forgive me. Remind me. If not a good DATE, trade with a mate.
August, September and the rest of the schedule will be developed when John returns from medical recuperation.
