Lisa Sayles-Adams is the superintendent of Eastern Carver County Schools District 112. A student-centered leader, Lisa is committed to ensuring educational equity and excellence for every learner. With more than 24 years of experience spanning a multitude of roles, Lisa’s passion for education and data-driven decision-making has resulted in school performance turnarounds, new strategic planning practices, innovative approaches to teaching, expanding programming, and more. She understands that work to support student success doesn’t end at the classroom door, and her leadership has made a difference in schools, communities, and cultures in both urban and suburban districts. A proud graduate of the St. Paul Public School system, Lisa served most recently as Assistant Superintendent of North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale Public Schools, a position she also held with St. Paul Public Schools. She has also been a principal at all levels and a middle school teacher. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Minnesota State University-Mankato.

In July 2021 Ron Meyer began his position as District 112’s Director of Finance and Operations. Meyer has over a decade of experience in school finance and operations, serving most recently as Executive Director of Finance and Operations at Osseo Area Schools. Prior to that, he was the director of finance for Eden Prairie Schools and the director of transportation services at South Washington County Schools. In addition to his school operations and finance background, Meyer is a former Eastern Carver County Schools Board member and an active member of the Minnesota Association of School Business Officials. He earned his bachelor's and Master’s in B

usiness Administration from Bethel University.
After being introduced by Celi Haga, Lisa showed a video supporting the Referendum Question on the Nov. 2 ballot: “10-year operating levy to increase the general education revenue by $550 per pupil, subject to an annual increase at the rate of inflation.” In 2019, a similar ballot question was not passed by the voters and Lisa described some of the negative results that followed. We also learned where the District 112 expenditures per student placed within the state’s major districts.
RESTORE, SUSTAIN, PROTECT and INVEST were the keywords used to highlight the positive results that are anticipated if the Referendum passes.
Ron Meyer crunched the numbers associated with the proposed property tax increase and the following graphic illustrates where the money would be spent. If the Referendum does not pass, Ron predicted that the Fund Balance would fall below 5% within three years; future budget cuts would be necessary, and an additional operating levy would be needed.
