In Memoriam
Many members provided thoughts of remembrance of Ray Schalow and Karl Nyline. Both men lived lives aimed at Rotary beliefs, so they will be missed by many of us. Memorial services have not been announced, but it looks like much later this spring or this summer. Detailed information will be shared as we learn it.

Last Week's Presentation
Gary Cooper introduced club member Denny Loving, who has organized Chaska’s own Pond Hockey tournament on January 26-29 in 2023. Denny Loving brought a layout map of the hockey fields that will host the Clay Cup tournament, and presented slides that outlined the many activities associated with the tournament. Our members were asked to participate in one or more of the many teams that are required to make this event happen successfully.
Denny described the friendly nature of the games that will be played, but will still retain the competitiveness of the teams. Four divisions organized by age and 2 divisions of women-only will compete on 6 rinks, each with goals that measure 6’ x 2’. The goal size is intended to keep shots low, and the absence of full protective gear should remind players of the friendly theme of the games. Entertainment, food, and beverages will be available at the nearby Event Center, as well as outdoors in warming tents.
Denny described some of the organizing actions, sponsors, partnerships and preparations needed, and implementation teams that are required.

Club Announcements and Updates
Finemaster and Happy Dollars: Dan Keyport provided another status update for our NCAA basketball playoff bracket sheet. More unlucky guessers provided the breakfast for our favorite blue pig. Seven folks are still hoping to have their own Cinderella moment when the tournament is finished.
Gary Cooper expressed some of his feelings with regard to getting STRIVE students scheduled to visit Dunwoody College.
Gary Hardel reminded us of the Shredding Event scheduled on May 7. New member Jodi Kettler Hesse will be helping Gary manage this community event.
