ROTARY INTERNATIONAL – Club Flag

Dan Keyport presented the flag from a Rotary club on Guam. There was no immediate crowd asking Sheryl Hough to book their next vacation there, despite its proclaimed attraction as “Where America’s Rotary Day Begins.”

PRESENTATION: Carver County's Highway Improvements

Bob Lindall continued his multi-decade involvement with transportation in Carver County by arranging today’s presentation by representatives of the county’s Public Works. Chad Clemens and Anthony Sellner were given a few hours’ notice to step into the role of presenters. Anthony works in the design and planning phase of highway improvement projects. Chad is the County Construction Manager and deals with the difficult reality of unsuitable soil conditions and delayed completion dates.

Even with the short notice, the engineers were able to show maps and status information that encompassed the work on western portions of Highways 212 and 5. Chad and Anthony explained the factors that affect their projects. Most of us learned a little about the science of road construction and reacted with better understanding and increased capacity for patience.

The Public Works website provides maps and current construction closures, detours and hopes for future improvements. LINK
