  • Phil Solseng was photographed sitting on the Rotary bench that was formerly in the courtyard of City Hall / Library. He was fined for his blatant innocence.
  • Gretchen Oppriecht highlighted the Chanhassen Rotary project of supporting the Dolly Parton Library that promotes literacy. LINK

HAPPY DOLLARS

Gretchen donated dollars to match relief that her family in Columbia was not hurt by the recent earthquake. John Roebke and Ken Hiller were also generous today.

ROTARY INTERNATIONAL – Club Flag

Robin Nesburg guided us towards antiquity and the Middle East when he displayed the flag of the Alexandria, Egypt Rotary Club. No exchange student provenance was found, so we assume one of our former members had visited that ancient city.

PRESENTATION: Matt Szybnski, Szybnski Family European Tour

Matt Szybnski introduced his family, then they all participated in recalling highlight of their family cruise and visits to the Baltic and European cities, including Copenhagen, Berlin, Gdańsk, Latvia, Stockholm, Estonia, Helsinki and London. Photos of their adventures, exotic foods and memorable moments transported us across the ocean.

They also visited Danish student Natasha Palmelund (2022-23) who was hosted by Matt’s family. She will be entering college soon, after completing her high school and military duty requirements. Below: Natasha and her Farewell cake, June 2023.

In the next photo left to right: Charlie, Ben, Nicole, Matt Szybnski.
