Matt Podhradsky would like to see us all planting trees alongside our Chaska Lions compadres in Community Park, on April 19, at 8:00 AM.
After congratulating ourselves for all the tree planting, we need to be geared up to work on fixing houses, etc. during Christmas in May on May 3. Meeting at St. John’s Lutheran Church at 7:00 AM.
Ken Hiller came back from his visit to Brazil with photos of Julia Moschioni, our exchange student 2018-19, and her parents. She is now studying architecture, and sends us fond greetings. Ken has promised us more tales from the Rio Negro in the Amazon basin. Photo below: Left - Julia in 2018; Right - Julia in 2025.
ROTARY EXCHANGE STUDENT - Marcos Alonso is continuing his education this week while in Hawaii!
Rotary International:
Robin Nesburg presented our flag of the week from Dortmund, Germany. Memories and a web search did not provide us much than a guess that the flag may have come from Exchange Student Robin Schneider in 2009-10.
Finemaster and Happy Dollars:
George Glaros rekindled our brain cells and emptied our wallets with St. Patrick’s Day questions. The luck of the Irish was decidedly NOT with us. Nonetheless, Happy Dollars were springing forth like four-leaf clovers from Vic Benetti, Matt Podhradsky, Erika Kennedy, Neil Wingert, Ken Hiller and Phil Solseng.
George Glaros represented the Membership Committee by challenging us to list possible contacts who could be invited to our meetings and engage with us, and stressing the benefits that we receive by being Rotarians. Gary Hardel, John Robke, Celene Haga and George will be attending Southwest Chamber of Commerce events on our behalf.
Note from John Roebke: Invocations can be a faith traditional prayer, or a meditation, or inspirational verse or quote. Brief 20 – 30 seconds. Light-hearted is okay. Option: focus on our Mission of Service Above Self. Need an idea – Google Rotary Invocations. Not a personal talent? Don't wait, tell me NOW, 612-790-7067, john.roebke@live.com. I will be glad to name another. If I forgot that you told me not a talent, please forgive me. Remind me. If not a good DATE, trade with a mate.
