Program: Chaska Valley Family Theatre

On May 3, Chaska Rotary welcomed Jennifer Welner and Gillian Barron from the Chaska Valley Family Theatre. In 1995, a group of former Chaska High School students teamed up to form a community theater with a special mission: to provide audiences a high quality, live theater experience featuring local talent with an emphasis on family involvement. Thus, the Chaska Family Theatre was formed. Since its first production of “Annie,” CVFT has produced dozens of performances that have been enjoyed by tens of thousands of patrons. Using a variety of talented local directors, CVFT currently produces several shows each season.

Their mission comes out of their core values, which are:

  • Quality: We will work had to create top quality productions and experiences on and off the stage,
with passionate teams and strong leadership.
  • Family-friendly: We will provide an environment that is welcoming and respectful to all, casting
families together whenever possible in order to create joyful experiences and life-long memories.
  • Community: We recognize the special role that the arts play to make strong communities, and will
work to keep our activities affordable so they remain accessible to all.

Dragon Fly Theatre Arts Camp
Chaska Valley Family Theatre will be hosting two sessions of our summer theatre camp this July. Students will learn about all facets of musical theatre production from auditions through performance during this engaging six-day camp experience for youth ages 8-13. Sessions will be held at the Chaska Community Center with students rehearsing and developing the play Monday through Friday, then performing the show, Cinderella, the Musicale, twice on Saturday.
