INVOCATION: Neil Wingert
10-15-15 Announcements
Joe Hoppe may have only been half-visible due to his camouflage shirt, but he promised a full day of fun at the Marsh Lake Hunt event on October 20.
Char Webber had regained her happy enthusiasm because the Social event venue was quickly re-scheduled for the Friday evening following last week’s meeting, and a good time was had by the 50 folks who looked at their email INBOX.
Robert Braun, from the Apple Valley Rotary Club invited us to purchase $20 raffle tickets to support his club’s programs. To complete their project, their members appear to visit every other Rotary meeting in the metro area – perhaps this process could be a path we should take? The raffle drawing will take place Oct 24 at Apple Valley Ford, 7200 150th Street West, Apple Valley, MN 55124.
Amanda Bloomgren whetted our appetites for our own fund-raising event – the annual Gala dinner-dance. It is scheduled for March 19, 2016. She requested we help funnel interested organizational recipients to her.
Tom Moorse invited us to attend the October 30 LOVE INC gala and sit at the Rotary table our club has reserved. The event will be held at St. Hubert Catholic Community in Chanhassen. Contact Tom if you would like to attend. No purchase required. More information about LOVE INC: http://loveincecc.org
Tom also read a kind Thank You note from a grateful teacher who liked our annual New Educator Breakfast.
Gary Cooper and Greg Anderson both had announcements, but they were too quick for the details to be heard and copied. Please send content for this newsletter to [email protected]
Maria Ochoa and Joe Hamilton, on behalf of the Ecuadorian Children’s Cancer Foundation, invited us to a fund raising evening at the Bayview Event Center in Excelsior, on Saturday Nov. 21, 6:30 – 10:30PM. The event will have wine tasting donated by Dan Keyport, appetizers, and a jazz band. Funds raised will be matched by the partnering Rotary club in Ecuador.
